Nick Jones began dancing at Michelle Rae School of Dance and later studied at the Victorian College of the Arts in Melbourne.

 

He performed in The Wizard of Oz, The King and I (Louis), Scrooge - the Musical (Peter Cratchit), 

Fiddler on the Roof, The Masked Ball and La Boheme.

 

His television credits include roles in Neighbours, Blue Heelers, Fast Forward, Mazda TVC’s, Carols by Candlelight,  Peter Allen: NOT THE BOY NEXT DOOR, and Olivia Newton John: HOPELESSLY DEVOTED TO YOU.

 

Nick spent over 2 years in China songwriting and performing as part of a multicultural pop group (UNIQUE), 

which culminated in the release of a top selling CD.

 

Returning home he toured with The Merry Widow, The Boy From Oz, The Music Man, Shout! The Legend of the Wild One, We Will Rock You, Fiddler on the Roof, Miss Saigon, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, and Cabaret - the Musical. 

 

Nick worked on Chita Rivera Down Under as tour co-ordinator and was one of Ms Rivera’s dancers in her Melbourne Masterclass. He was also Assistant Choreographer and Illustrator on the original season and returning seasons of Hedwig and the Angry Inch.

 

He opened the Adelaide Cabaret Festival as one of Rhonda Burchmore's dancers in Everybody Loves Rhonda. He then performed in Follies and Mame for the Production Company.

 

Nick then toured with his favourite show Chicago the Musical, in Australia, Singapore, and Hong Kong as Swing and understudied and performed the role of Amos Hart, and won a GREEN ROOM AWARD for CHICAGO. 

 

Behind the scenes Nick has worked with many Uber famous clients. He was tour manager for Helen Reddy, Melanie Safka and Macy Gray on their Australian Tours. It was on tour with Macy Gray that she asked Nick to direct, film, then edit her latest music video THE WAY.

 

Nick choreographed the television mini series Peter Allen: NOT THE BOY NEXT DOOR for Channel 7, (Directed by Shawn Seet, Underbelly) which was watched by over 4 million viewers, and is his career highlight so far. He then joined the same team to choreograph the biopic of Olivia Newton-John: HOPELESSLY DEVOTED TO YOU.

 

Nick then started his own video production business which has given him the opportunity to connect with some of the most inspirational homebred and international clients and brands.  

 

Nick is over the moon to be playing Hanna in  La Cage aux Folles and dedicates his performance to his entire family, loving friends, dogs, and Melinda Addison.
